Unity seen in difference as students rejoice 10th Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day
Addis Ababa University, in a colorful ceremony held on December 7, 2015, has celebrated the 10th Nations, Nationalities and People’s day at the main campus of the university.
Celebrated with the theme, “Nations, Nationalities and People’s Participation for surpassed Development and Transformation”, the day is special for Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and People’s for it has brought equality for the last 21 years. As part of the celebration, representative students from the nine regions have performed a show on traditional attire and dancing styles of the Nations, Nationalities and People’s of the country. The unique and overall features of the nine regions of the country were further expressed on the event. Besides, the day was marked with live painting organized by students of Ale School of Fine Arts and Design.
Rejoicing the day in higher education institutions like Addis Ababa University has special meaning as representatives from various Nations, Nationalities and People’s of the country are part of the festivity. The colorful festivities observed on campus demonstrated that the university is home for all.
In attendance were the University’s President Admasu Tsegaye (PhD), Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, Students and the University community.
